For the fifth consecutive year, Simon Fraser University is being billed as a top place to work in B.C.
Mediacorp Canada, the country’s leading employment periodicals publisher, has listed SFU as one of B.C.’s top 60 employers for 2012.
The reasons why SFU has made the gold list again are the same as those placing the university on Mediacorp’s Canada’s Top 100 Employers list for 2012.
Among key accomplishments making SFU a top employer provincially and nationally:
- New urban living options at the UniverCity development project, one of the most innovative and progressive urban development projects in North America
- Defined-benefit and defined-contribution pension plans, as well as health benefits that extend through retirement, with no age limit
- Generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments for new mothers, fathers, and adoptive parents (to 100 per cent of salary for 37 weeks) and an onsite daycare facility
The Vancouver Sun has just published the B.C.’s Top Employers list for 2012 in a special supplement. The list and the reasons why the winners were recognized can also be found at http://www.eluta.ca/, Mediacorp’s web-based search engine.
Last year, more than 2,750 employers started the application process to get on one or all of the following prestigious lists: Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Canada’s Top Family-Friendly Employers and B.C.’s Top Employers.
For the fifth consecutive year, SFU made the 2012 cut as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. For the fourth time in the last five years, it has been listed also as one of Canada’s top 20 family-friendly employers.
