SFU Vancouver is about to launch a regular series of film screenings at the downtown campus, followed by discussions on the films and their topics.

The first in the series is the documentary Bloodied but Unbowed. For those of us who weren’t around to experience Vancouver’s punk scene in the late 70s/early 80s, this doc has all of the honest details. Local filmmaker Susanne Tabata gives us a look into the music and lifestyle that went along with the local punk culture, and she’s joined by some of the veterans who will tell you what really happened. Bloodied but Unbowed is a behind-the-scene’s look at our city’s punk scene in it’s prime. Tabata, along with some of those featured in the film, will be on-site for a Q&A following the screening.

Register here for Bloodied but Unbowed and keep an eye out for future film nights at SFU Vancouver. The next movie night will take place on Friday, January 20, with the film still TBA.

What: Bloodied but Unbowed film screening and Q&A
When:
November 18, 7-9 p.m.
Where:
1800 Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings

Please feel free to suggest a film by emailing Scott McLean at srmclean@sfu.ca.
