Clothing XChange Comes to @SFUVan
Chances are you don’t wear everything in your closet. That’s why the Graduate Student Society (GSS) has organized an SFU-wide clothing swap. They want you to do some Spring cleaning by “swapping instead of shopping.” Be sustainable, save your cash, and find a hidden gem or two.
The swap takes place on March 16, at Harbour Centre and you’re welcome to bring your items straight to the event. If you want to get a head start, you can bring them a week in advance, Monday March 12, to the following locations:
Vancouver: Harbour Centre, main entrance, 10 am – 4 pm
Burnaby: GSS Offices, MBC 2203, 9 am – 4 pm
Surrey: To be announced shortly (Check the GSS Website for updated information)
For each item you donate, you will receive a token that can be used to get new items in the swap (to a maximum of 5).
All women’s and men’s clothing and accessories are accepted, but remember to donate items in good condition. Please, no stains, rips, or holes! You can read a full list of the rules here.
In addition to the clothing swap, the GSS will be screening a short documentary about the advantages of clothing exchanges, both from a financial and sustainable point of view. Refreshments will be provided (and mingling encouraged).
