SFU welcomed almost 20,000 people this past Saturday, May 26, to the Burnaby campus for the annual Open House and luckily, @SFUVan was there to make them smile! Among booths with everything from maggot painting to pedal-powered smoothie making, SFU Vancouver got creative by making an interactive photo booth.

Staff from SFU Vancouver brought their Downtown swagger up the mountain, set-up the photo booth and asked people, “What’s your favourite thing to do in Downtown Vancouver?” People of all ages stopped by the booth to find out about the Vancouver campus, its programs and to get their photo taken to be a part of a map highlighting a variety of Downtown activities as well as showcasing the diversity found in Downtown Vancouver.

Placed on a large map illustrated by Dennis Smith, an SFU alumni and employee, people’s photos demonstrated that the Vancouver Campus of SFU has a lot than just unique academic programs. Participants listed everything from shopping and taking photos, to biking the Seawall and urban hiking, showcasing how SFU Vancouver is a great place to be for school as well as social and cultural activities.

Do you want to get your photo snapped by @SFUVan? Look out for the photo booth at upcoming SFU Vancouver events – you may be in for a silly surprise. For the time being, check out all the photos on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SFUVancouver.
